Fountain House
Fort Myers, FL — As of Monday, more than 100 people have been killed in the wake of Hurricane Ian with at least 40,000 displaced from their homes and millions of others left without power, water, or food, including our friends and colleagues at Hope Clubhouse.
As the devastation in Florida continues to mount, Fountain House and its national network of partners are pulling together resources to support Hope Clubhouse, a nonprofit organization that provides community and support to people living with serious mental illness in Southwest Florida. You can donate here.
All funds will be restricted to direct Hurricane Ian relief and used first and foremost to take care of Hope Clubhouse’s members, people living with serious mental illness, to ensure their immediate needs are met. Any remaining funds will go towards repairs of Hope Clubhouse’s building as well as replenishing resources lost in the storm.
Clubhouses like Hope Clubhouse are a bedrock to their communities, especially in the chaotic and traumatic aftermath of a natural disaster when mental health is particularly at risk. They provide much-needed stability and comfort, disseminate critical information, and ensure that members who may otherwise isolate are taken care of and accounted for.
Please join us in providing emergency support to Hope Clubhouse to further their Hurricane Ian recovery efforts. For updates, visit their Facebook page for the latest news.
